Maxine Thompson

Maxie’s first venture into a professional kitchen was at 18 when she cooked in and managed a beachside café, where her famous muffins (Max’s muff) became the hottest menu item in town. The cooking craze continued globally when she gained employment at Bristol’s best Mexican Restaurant as their 2nd chef, and would cater for over 100 sittings most nights.

Maxie has an equal love of food and fashion and the past 4 years have allowed her to embrace both of these. Whilst co-writing and producing The Bookery Cook, she also completed a double degree in Fashion Design and Business (Management). Maxie’s second major creative project was the planning, opening and running of the first university based, student run a ‘pop-up’ store in Queensland called ‘The Fleet Store’. The store received significant national, international press and online media and fashion blog coverage (see facebook: TheFleetStore).

Hungry for another adventure, Maxie is moving to New York to pursue her career in fashion and food, and introduce New Yorkers to The Bookery Cook community.
