I've been blessed for the last year living with a girl who loves to eat, and will eat anything I put infront of her. So for her birthday I decided that instead of going out for dinner, we should have a dinner party at home. So we squeezed 15 people into our tiny apartment for her birthday feast.

I made some ricotta late Saturday night after a few bottles of wine with some friends. With vague memories of such 'whey'ward aventures, I woke to a fridge full of fresh ricotta.. what a treat. After a bit smeared on toast that morning I had a loads left so set my eyes on making some sort of fresh pasta/ricotta number.. here's my take on the Sicilian classic Pasta Alla Norma using printed pasta!

The last night before Maxie jetted off to set up life in NYC last year we had a day of adventuring around the misty mountain wonderland of Maleny, visiting friends and stopping off at the Maleny pub for a pint on the way home. That night we cooked up a yum new gnocchi dish for Maxie's last supper.
