(My stomach) Loves New York

...almost as much as I do!

My days at the moment consist of waking up, deciding where to go for breakfast, walking around looking at clothing, buildings, people, having an afternoon wine, deciding where to go for dinner, dinner, more drinks, then bed. A lifestyle I could definitely get used to!

Yesterday breakfast was at Cafe Gitane. Where we were told to get the avocado on toast- we did and it was the most incredible piece of avo toast I’ve ever tasted. We spent the next 4 hours discussing how something so simple could be so delicious. The fruit salad was very tasty too. Great coffee and beautiful staff. A big winner- will be back.

We popped into ORO bar & bakery for an afternoon drink, we had walked past it several times and thought it looked great. Good atmosphere and amazing music playing! Most of their wines are organic and from local wineries.

Dinner was at Cafe Habana. This place was buzzzzzing! We arrived at about half 6, and quickly after we sat down there was a huge line out the door of people waiting for a table. The food was good- we had corn cobs to start, which were amazing- melted cheese, seasoning and salt and pepper  For main I had the braised pork with beans… which was good, not life changing but still tasty. Could have done with a side order of guacamole or sour cream. Also has a take away next door if you don’t fancy waiting for a table!

We popped into a wicked little bar/restaurant called Lovely Day for a night cap. Every day would be a lovely day if you visited this establishment. Delicious looking food (will be back to eat), lovely staff and delicious $10 cocktails. Really great vibe about the place too.

Tomorrow night I am lucky enough to be going to the launch of King Adz’s new book‘Street Knowledge’ at a club called Le Bain. I’m looking forward to representing The Bookery Cook and finally meeting Adz in person! Keep tuned for photos!
