Breakfast of Champions at Joseph Leonard, NYC

One beautiful sunny Saturday morning, and having some friends from out of state in town, we decided to spend the day eating, walking and sightseeing around the West Village.

First stop; Due to the fact that on we woke up hangover-free on this Saturday morning we decided to treat ourselves to a champagne brunch at Joseph Leonard (170 Waverly Place, NY, 10014).

The interoir of Jospeh Leonard was absolutely beautiful, so warm and friendly and buzzing at 11am on a Saturday. The wait (for a table for 5) was only about half an hour, in which we took the opportunity to drink coffee and bask in the winter sunshine and catch up on life outside.

Wanting to capitalise on their delicious menu, we decided to each order a meal and share it. Unbeknown to us, the staff were kind/efficient enough to do the dividing of meals for us, so instead of 5 meals, we had enough food to feed an army!

We ate:

 - Mushroom and eggs sunny side eggs, country toast, brie, onion marmalade and baby lettuce

- Omelette aux fines herbes: fresh herbs and goat cheese with french fries and brioche

- Smoked salmon salad: fried egg, brioche, frisee, herbs, radish and pickled onion

- Burger: tomato marmalade, arugula, ricotta, brioche and fries

- Side of brussels sprouts to share

With a champagne smile and full bellies we took a stroll along the High Line (one of my favourite places in NYC) to take in the wonderful weather and spectacular views of the city.
