On the weekend of the 09/12 (or 12/09 in USA) 1/3 of the Bookery Cook was fortunate enough to venture to Linchonville Maine to celebrate the 30th birthday of fellow food lover and good friend Miss Aimee Hunter (Anatomy of Food) at one of the most beautiful and delectable properties to date, Salt Water Farm.
Salt Water Farm is a former sheep farm that overlooks Penobscot Bay in Lincolnville, Maine. The farm has been transformed into an organic farm, cooking school and supper club by the incredible Annemarie Ahearn. The school holds monthly ‘Full Moon Suppers’ a five-course feast that illuminates your body and your mind.
In addition to the monthly Full Moon suppers and cooking classes, the farm offers three-day cooking courses delving into the dying arts of cooking; bread-baking, cheese-making, butchery, pickling and preserving.
In the lead up to Full Moon Supper eat-a-thon we decided to brave the snowy mountains and earn some food credits by hiking up Bald Hill Mountain which climbs to 486 feet above sea level- needless to say the view from the top was absolutely breathtaking.
We returned home to shower, and cleanse our palettes with a few whiskeys in anticipation of the Full Moon Supper.
